Wild turkey nesting. what do I feed it? **PICTURE pg 2**

Hey, help me understand what a Royal Palm is. She does look different than the others but what does this mean?

I am new to chickens and obviously don't know my other fowl.

A Royal Palm is a breed of turkey, just like we have different breeds of chickens.

We were able to tell by the color of the bird that it was not a wild breed of turkey, but instead a domestic breed that just "got away". This is probably one of your neighbor's loose turkeys.

Because it is not wild, you are more than welcome to do whatever you want with it. Feed it, pen it, keep it, eat it, whatever.

Royal Palms are white turkeys which are trimmed in black (see my avatar). The longer I look at the pic of that turkey though the more I am beginning to think she may be a Narragansett or a mixed breed of some type.

Can you get some more pics from different angles? She is not going to let you flush her in fact she will probably give you a good pecking before she will let you move her so you should be able to get some pics from better angles.

Thanks a million. The wild ones that come are very long and dark and the neighbor who keeps turkeys is the one who said they were wild. This one is entirely different and I am so glad you told me so I can feed her.

She did hiss at me when I took the picture, so I will wait a bit but will get one this afternoon. I can move the grape vine a bit but worry about bothering her.

The links are great. Guess I will just let her hatch her babies and tell my neighbor that she is here.

You guys are so great and quick. We were calling her an albino turkey because she looked different from the wild ones but just figured she was.... glad I came here first!!
