Wild turkey nesting. what do I feed it? **PICTURE pg 2**

Maybe the owner will give you a couple chicks for providing the nesting spot.

I am sure he would, but I don't know what I would do with a turkey or two. I should say, my chickens may not do well with them.

I just called the neighbor. He said he would give me half the chicks for feeding her. I really don't have a need for turkeys but that was nice. She is about 2 weeks setting.

He raises turkeys and then puts them back into the wild. He said this was half California wild and half European wild turkey. I know nothing about them as you know.

That was nice of him! Thanks for the update, I know the turkey fans enjoy comparing their suggestions and guesses to facts.

You may not have a need for turkeys, but most people who try them love them.

I really wouldn't think it would be possible to feed a wild turkey to the extent that it STOPPED foraging...I mean, our tame ones are fed well, and they still forage, right? A little corn just to keep her settled shouldn't be a terrible thing.

Im pretty sure that bird is not any bit wild turkey. And I especially havent heard of California wild and European wild. She looks like a mix breed to me. But that is just my opinion.

Yeah, the guy is a little eccentric so that is why I posted what he said so y'all could have the info. It sure is cute though. He said that it would jump up and scratch at me when she had her chicks. I think I will know by the cheeping and I don't plan on getting that close, LOL.
