Wild turkey with a strange disease has anyone seen this?

Thanks for posting that shot. Was this turk taken by hunting, found deceased...?

Might be an aggressive instance of Dry Pox. Or Pox run rampant in an already compromised (stressed) turk.

I decided to put this turkey out of its misery it was setting by my house looked lost. And on its back its feathers were ruffles and irritated skin showing. I ended up boxing it up and lighting the box so no predators could possible contract whatever infected this turkey. And is pox able to spread to humans?

Poor thing but you did the right thing. It looks like pox to me.
