Back in August, our dog brought us a turkey chick. We raised it with a new batch of day old chicks we had just received.
It's November now and the thing has decided to stay with our chicken/duck flock but I'm wondering if you all can tell me if it's a hen or tom?

Looks like a hen. In some states it's illegal to keep them without a permit, I don't know New Jersey laws though.

It's free range so we don't "keep" it. Sophie the Maremma livestock guardian dog protects it like she does the rest of the flock.

She looks a lot like my Eastern Wild Turkey! :love is she friendly?

She's very friendly..or at least she was:

Last night, the wild in her came out and she decided to fly high up into the trees to roost: This morning she had no head :( RIP Turkey

In the Springtime, I'll try to find a pair of domesticated turkeys.
