Wild Wyandottes! What should I do?

I think I just need egg proof... so Easter egg hunt it is... although that would only convince my mother, my father has some anxiety. Ha, my father was completely against saving the stray cat on our street too, now he loves that cat!

(They're beautiful! See if they'll let u get close. If so, try a net or just catching them with your hands, if not, try a live trap maybe? See if you can get some of your family to come over and help catch them. If you can't convince them to keep the hens, u can always rehome them. If you can get enough ppl u could corner the hens and catch them both by hand. I'm used to catching chickens that way. Get two or more people and chase them into the other persons arms or towards a structure they can't get through to corner them urself.

The wyandottes will let me get around three feet from them, then they will slowly go the other direction. Maybe if I bring out some watermelon!

From the pictures it looks like it will be hard to find egg prof I would try to catch them and coop them and then you’ll get egg prof

Those are definitely golden laced Wyandottes! I would try to catch them as soon as possible though, because at any second, they could get scared by something and run away. I also agree with @Cinnamon11 you should try to use a large net. If you don’t have one, then you can make one out of fishing net material (or any material they won’t suffocate in) and a long pole, you don’t want to try to get too close because they could be traumatized by other people trying to catch them up close (who knows what they’ve been through!) and run away.

Well, then I'm sure time will convince him, and if that won't your mom will, happy wife happy life! Anyways, if he does decide you can't keep them, you could give them away or maybe even sell them if you can't find their original owner. Just tell him that and try and convince him to help catch them! Or at least convince your mother, or maybe some of your siblings (if u have any)

A net would be a fine idea, though they can be difficult to use and u could hurt them by accident, especially if the holes are big enough to get their necks caught or even some of their toes! I think if you want to use a net u may want to get help from your parents to use it, but I wouldn't worry about them getting tramatized with you catching them by hand, I'd much more be worried about them getting eaten by coyotes before you can catch them! So u should try and do it before tonight.

(Got two siblings... I mentioned it yesterday to my twin, he doesn't think it's possible to convince anybody, but then, that was how he felt when I was convincing everyone to get the chicks we have today... and look what happened, nine little girls in our coop again!)

Good idea! What about the other sibling? You should try and catch the chickens as soon as possible, even if it isn't to keep them for good. Try to talk about alternatives to keeping them in the long run, like returning them to their original owner, which is a good and neighborly thing to do. Or selling them, which may convince your parents if they care at all about money, (and most people do!)
