Me either, lol... it was more of an accident. They looked like normal, black silhouettes in my viewfinder but the flash exposed them properly.That is genius. I never would have thought to do that!!

Not the biggest fan of snails but these photos are so cool… keep it up.
I do not have a studio but I'm contemplating setting one up for photographing jumping spiders. I would want my studio shots to look as natural as possible though...@mdees88 Maybe I've missed it, but do you have a studio where you take some of these pics or is it pretty natural, like on some white sand or something?? Love all your pictures, just curious about these!
Computer paper, excellent!!So far everything has been shot in the "field" except the bugs with the all white background. I found them at work and I just set them on a sheet of computer paper, lol...
I like to set the paper at the edge of a table too. This way I can get the bottom of the lens lower than the table to get eyelevel shots. If there's something weird colored in the background I will fold the back edge of the paper up an inch or two. Then the background will be white...Computer paper, excellent!!Great close shots that make for a nice "clean" look!
