This cottontail was doing a pretty good job of hiding. I should've used manual focus.

I may have bought a new camera in celebration for winning the flower competition 🤣 Pentax K3 Mark III a.k.a Pentax best APS-C DSLR. It's amazing.

However!!!! Lightroom's denoise AI doesn't work with it currently there's a bug so I can't use the AI 😭 Luminar is still broken too so not sure what to do as I have not much clue about manual denoising.

Anyway, I think this was the 20-30th shot on the camera with my 300mm + 1.4 TC, instant focus and I like it! (Do we think it's a noisy photo? I've gone a bit noise-mad)

It's nice. You can't control the type of day without a cloud or two. The bird itself is great with the wings back and the dimples showing the wheels up like a plane. A touch of edits around the head to lighten some shadow may help see some detail around the eye and beak.

This was unedited too excluding trying to get denoise AI to work (and crop) so thanks that's a brilliant response! The colours are amazing straight from this camera!!

yes they are. I wish I still had my Nikon D500 for its lightning fast focus and rich colors. Plenty of pixels for a cropped sensor and make beautiful enlargements. If I can get my 24" printer unclogged and running again I may just buy another one to use on chickens for chicken art on canvas.

Awesome. Congratulations!

I have topaz denoise and have used Lightroom AI denoise but I really don't like either to be honest. Sometimes they work great and sometimes not so much for me. I prefer doing my own denoise in lightroom.

It is VERY easy...

I just do a subject detect mask (touch it up if needed), and set the noise to -100. Then I will globally set the denoise to around 70, 80, or 90. If there are any other areas that I do not want noise reduction I will use a brush set to -100 noise and cover those areas (which will remove the global denoise).

This is not the only way to do it and most people probably do the opposite of this, but it works very well for me and only takes me a couple to minutes to do.
