Thank you! The herons are pretty used to people, sometimes the hardest part is getting them to fly off when you want them to! I was really surprised about the otter though, usually they’re more skittish than that. A seal swam around with my dad and got within five feet of him, which was exciting.
 
Today I sat (in the mud) and watched the wildlife activity at a "sapsucker tree." There was a family of three sapsuckers (mom, dad, and baby), butterflies, and a hummingbird drinking from the sap wells, and a Song Sparrow singing above. Juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker:
