I was sitting in my golf cart messing with my phone and he landed on the steering wheel. I very slowly moved my finger towards him and kept pushing him with it until he climbed on, lol. He stayed for about 3 min....

They tend to "circle back", too. If I am approaching a dragonfly and it leaves its perch, it almost always returns to the same perch within seconds. I just wait, keeping my camera ready.
