Yep a male house finch. Hang some fern baskets next summer, and they may very well nest in them.

Haha, that's exactly what happened when my daughter hung a huge fern basket on the front porch.

I could give it a try... I'm working on my photography skills, and know what a good photo does and doesn't have, but I haven't had a a lot of experience as a judge. I would do my best though!

ETA: I'll probably also enter the winter photography contest, and that might be a problem.
