Thanks HopKat for my PFM ♥
The most common of ducks around here, so simple yet so beautiful. Sometimes I feel the birds I capture are too common, but they're so beautiful.

Thanks, although I must say, there's like no detail, the focus is fuzzy, the lighting's not great and just the quality itself sucks. Are you kidding? That's amazing?!! Phenomenal looking bird nice photo!
Woah.I haven't been much lately but I really enjoy taking wildlife pics. I searched on here and didn't find a thread dedicated to it so I figured I would start one.
Anybody out there who likes taking pics of wildlife? Feel free to share them here.
You are correct on all accounts! The Canvasback is the big cousin of your Pochards, and yes they are quite large. Usually very skittish though.View attachment 3341275
Your photo reminds me of this guy, we see him occasionally playing with the tufted ducks, yours looks much bigger though!
You may be right but that isn't all that matters in a photo, I learned about an entirely new bird from your photos, I can see their colours, eyes, size, bill. I think it's a great photo. Thanks, although I must say, there's like no detail, the focus is fuzzy, the lighting's not great and just the quality itself sucks.
One man's rubbish is another man's gold! They're such beautiful birds honestlyYou are correct on all accounts! The Canvasback is the big cousin of your Pochards, and yes they are quite large. Usually very skittish though.
Interestingly enough, finding a Pochard or a Tuftie on this side of the pond is a HUGE deal for birders all around, although the latter species is slowly becoming a more and more frequent occurrence.
Yeah, and on the flip side, we have a lot of birds here in America that most Europeans would go NUTS for!One man's rubbish is another man's gold! They're such beautiful birds honestly
