This rather mundane photo of pelicans is only interesting because it was taken in the middle of the Sonoran desert. The closest place you'd normally expect to see them is 212 miles away, in Rocky Point.

That is what I believe it is! Definitely one of, if not, the most common bird of his size around here, even beats out gulls in our area.

Thank you, I have a few different poses from this scene, really hard to keep the darkness of the bird and bring out that light! I end up deleting almost all my corvidae photos for this reason.
