This is SO great to hear all these BYCrs actually concerned about wildlife! I was getting the impression that most of the people on this website only want to kill wildlife.

For one thing mother deer DONT tucks their fawns away, they let the fawn go bed down by themself, so as not to leave the doe scent there, Newborn fawn have no scent.

Predators would follow the doe scent to the fawn if she took the fawn to its place.

The fawn in the road could have been going to bed down, mother near by.

I don't think they meant "tuck in" as in what a human mother would do with their child.

I keep about 40A of my land for wildlife, yes I do kill my share of the predators (coons) that come after my birds.

Now people letting their dogs and CATS run loose killing my birds and wildlife burn me up.

CATS are predators of birds and people think its ok to let them run loose cause they kill a few mice.

Funny another post someone wants to get cats to kill snakes(snakes kill mice)

Sorry Wendy, just trying to clear up that a mother deer does not go near the fawns bedding area. If the fawn was laying in the road??? no not normal. but standing yes it could be by itself.

Hope you dont hit to hard.
