i have a broody silkie sitting for about a month now. We gave her 3 two week old chicks a few months ago and she did terrific. The 3 still sleep with her quite often. I now have 3 chicks and a turkey hatchling the chicks are a week old and the turkey 3 days. I snuck then under her last night while her big chicks were in perches. Will she still take care of the turkey after she realizes it’s not a chicken? I’ve heard silkies will adopt almost anything but I still don’t know? Any suggestions?

Ok. It looks like everything will work. The silkies big chicks are all way bigger than her except for the bantam. We the silkie separate from the rest of the chickens at the moment but one of her big chicks still managed to get in and was sleeping with her and the chicks. I’ll add more pictures later

Here is a pic. I was out of town on a rafting trip for 3 days and couldn’t post a pic so here one is. Also now I have a pouting hen. One of the silkies older chicks. Griffin is keeps fluffing up and tucking her head in whenever she sees the chicks. She is pretty gentle so I think I might be able to let her in the separate pen with the silkie and chicks if she wants,
