Me, too. This post had me wrapped around it's little finger (uh, claw?). Amazing little creatures, aren't they? And, excellent caregiving, btw! I love happy endings.
Popsicle is the perfect name. I guess it could be changed to Momsicle if need be. What a heart warming story - if you know who the parents are, you should repeat the breeding. They sure have an extra dose of survivor genes. The thing about cold is, it slows down the body processes, less energy is needed. Still miracle story for both chicks.
Chicks are doing GREAT. Although I vowed to keep them, I did give them to my neighbor after I had a my first Dog attack incident on Saturday night. No one was killed, but pretty close to it. My poor Roo is Bald now. So I decided not to join anymore to my flock until I am 100% sure it will never happen again. The rear neighbors dogs broke through the wooden fence planks. My Chickens have always been free range in the daytime, so I am putting up wire fencing this week. I will still get to my little miracles whenever I want! She kept their names too.
