Will a "first egg" hatch from a goose?

I could hardly believe it, but one of my new geese just laid an egg. I know it is a goose egg because the chickens and ducks are cooped up today.
I thought geese did not lay this time of the year. I saw them getting down to business in the wading pool a few days ago, but never thought I would find an egg!
It is on the small side for a goose egg but I am guessing it is her first.
Can I hatch the little egg out or do I have to wait until they get bigger.
Are they supposed to be laying? When do they stop.
I think it is from the Africans but I also have a pair of Pilgrim.
Any ideas on the hatching part?
Thanks!

I would try

What kind of goose? Most of them only lay in the spring, but the chinese are known to lay in the fall as well. If she is a young goose, this can also make her start laying. You can always try to hatch it, but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work.

Check out my BYC page on how to hatch goose eggs, it is also in the stickies

Sorry, I was gone all evening. I have 5 African geese (2 mated pair) and then Pilgrims (1 mated pair)

I did stick it in the incubator. Who knows?
