Yep we have those and they are big, you know if you have a quite a few geese maybe the hawk wouldn't mess with them, I'm thinking they would prefer something smaller. 7 Large geese would probably deter a hawk. Especially if they stay together.

Good idea, my geese which is only 2 won't go outside of their fenced in area unless I go with them, same with the ducks, the chickens go over the fence and roam around but have been sticking close to bushes under cover mostly, this is a rough time of year when the trees lose their leaves it makes everything open and the flock more venerable,. I don't open the gate unless i am home, I worry more about roaming dogs than hawks most of the time,. The one recovering was it attacked by something? We've got 7 Sebastopols (8, actually, but one is in the house recovering). One of our geese, Baby Huey, is a freak of nature and probably weighs 15-18 pounds. He's twice as big as any of the others. And they do travel in a pack. So hopefully they will be okay. i think i do need to put up aviary netting around our patio in any places the hawk might be able to get to our ducks, along with penning them up when i'm not there. Hopefully the hawk will lose interest and move on.
I have no idea how things like that can be filmed and no one intervene, I just could not watch to the end. Your braver than me H.The only time I have seen the hawk lose interest is if the turkeys are out with them. For some reason they stay clear of the turkeys. Even when I'm with them the hawk will keep circling looking for a way by me.
I watched to the end Miss L and I just wanted to beat the person filming this. How can someone just stand by and watch this?
I did not know that, the falcon got taken by an Eagle? I was thinking all this time that the falcon took down the goose for food.No not braver, mad. That falcon was his pet, not a wild animal. There was no reason for this kill that I can see. Hawks and owls that I have seen are very capable of taking larger than themselves. Owls drop fast and stun just like this falcon and then smother their prey, just like this falcon. In the wild is one thing, but to set this up? Nope, I'm glad it got taken by an eagle. I wonder if the owner filmed that?
I don't know why it was allowed to take the goose but later on I guess it got a return favor and was taken by an eagle. Nature, go figure, everything comes full circle. I still say it's too bad it couldn't have been the owner of this bird. yeah, yeah, I know all about the hunting edge and all that. At one time I was going to raise falcons and hunt with them. There are still other ways to keep them on the edge without allowing them to take more than they need or could possibly use. Just my opinion.I did not know that, the falcon got taken by an Eagle? I was telling my son about this and he said in our state you can actually use falcons for hunting game, I didn't know that.I don't know why it was allowed to take the goose but later on I guess it got a return favor and was taken by an eagle.
