will a silkie live well with chicks

i have 2 silkie pullets and am getting 5 chicks soon. the silkies aren't laying yet so do you think if i carefully introduced them to the chicks they would get along? Should i separate the hens or keep them together as i do this?

I do not have silkies. But have read and seen pictures of other members silkies who have adopted chicks when the silkies themselves where not yet laying. So it does happen, probably depends upon the bird. You can try it and see - give yourself lots of time to be able to watch, just in case you need to rescue some chick. If your silkie girls get along great, I would try giving them the chicks together and see what happens.
