I am a little confused with some posts and so just want to clarify.
Do tom's kill poults?

I have heard that when a hen starts sitting on a nest to remove the tom from the pen but then I have others saying you leave the tom in the pen at all times. So, I am a touch confused.
If you do remove the tom from the pen when should you put him back?
I currently have 2 pens (a tom pen & then my layind hens & their poults) and I am building a third pen for the when the poults are a touch older. (I'm sure other pens will be added also)!!
Also when would you recommend removing the poults from the laying hen/poults pen? Or letting the tom's near the poults?
Just wondering what works for others.

I don't know that they would purposely kill them but the toms might still be trying to breed with the hens and could easily stomp the poults to death. I can't say for sure because I hatch most all my eggs in an incubator so I haven't had to deal with that situation.
