will adding fan change my temps

will I see any temperature differences by adding a fan to my still air bator? will I have to adjust my thermostat? will the temps get more steady? I know the temp will be more even throughout the bator.

In my experience yes you will need to readjust the temperature to 99,5 F

how much space should I put between the fan and the top of the bator???

close but less of an inch is the minimum depends on the space you have and the power of the fan so that the chicks do not reach it on one of my Diy incub they pecked the temp sensor that was hanging too low and destroy it
