So several of my girls have red combs/waddles and have been squatting when i pet them. Is it ok to start offering them calcium grit in a container or do I wait until i see eggs?

Ty :)

You may offer it on the side at any time; birds seem to know how much calcium they need, and when they need it. They avoid it when they don't need it, so having it available at all times is not only the easiest way to deal with it for you but for your flock too! Win-Win!

That is one gorgeous pup you have by the way! Looks like it's wearing a mask.

Awwwwwww ty so much!!!! Steel is such an amazing dog. He is my second purebred shepherd and ive had dogs my whole life but he is the SMARTEST dog I've ever had the pleasure to welcome into my family!!!!

Cool name to go with his look too, love it! Is he actually a working dog?

He works for us. He is a PPD. (personal protection dog) I also did some fun dog sports with him; IPO and dock diving. Tho with how much i work, the last couple years I havent had time to do ANY fun training stuff with him. I used to have weekends free.. i was able to take him on the weekends for training, alternating weekends with IPO training and to my home state for dock diving. But since my father put me in charge of some of the business, i have NO time for fun stuff. If i didnt need the money i wouldn't do it.

I still "work" him, every time we play, i incorporate training with it. Which is how ive always trained him so he LOVES training but no more dog clubs and sports for us :( really sucks but having a home for all of us is most important. The main reason i taught him so much was because he is a working line so he was alwaysssss into something unless he was training lol he has energy for days!!!!

Besides being fully trained in protection and obedience. He does some cute tricks. I have bunch of YouTube vids of him. If youd like, send me a message and I can send you my user name. :) one of the cutest "tricks" he does is steals money from peoples pockets. Tho the video on youtube was when he was first learning it so he looks for the money in the wrong pocket at first lol it was cute. I said in the video "steel we're low on dog food money, go pick pocket" and he barked like OK!! lol he was about 5 or 6 months old?

I do believe steel missed his calling in life. He is a very civil dog (google civil dog if you dont know what that means) with brains, strength, willing to please, commom sense and no fear. he should have been a police dog and boy does he have a NOSE on him!!!! He is truly a phenomenal dog. (Also have a few vids on there of him doing scent work with pot and money)

My niece says im a dog narcissist when it comes to Steel lmao i said awww thanks she said thats not a good thing. I said sure it is hahahaha
