My chickens got into my garden yesterday and ate all the green tops off of my beets and carrots, and also some of the vegetables that they were able to dig up. As most of us know, beets stain everything a pinkish-red. Will the contents of their eggs be affected by consuming beets and their greens?

I have no clue but now I'm tempted to go buy some beets and feed them to my chickens to find out [IMG]

I don't know about beets, but our chickens eat some wild berries here in the summer that turn their yolks a deep deep deep orange, almost red, color! Very striking! I wouldn't be surprised if beets do the same...will be interested to hear!

If you see a difference, post a picture of one before beets and one after!
