Definitely depends on the breed.. funny enough i have an even split here.. the calls and Muscovy fly, the buffs and the pekin do not... either way, i don't clip BUT my Muscovy do fly about but that is mainly to get up onto things vs away.. the calls use theirs to get into a trough lol
Clipping as shown above is a good alternative if you have concerns of them leaving... because i free range most of my ducks i leave them full flight to reduce their predation risk.
