I was sitting in my coop/shed spending time with my "kids" I picked up Laverne (one of my silkies) and placed her on my lap while Shirley was sitting on my shoe. When Laverne jumped down my little silkie roo was directly under her and she landed right on him.

He then flipped over and over with his neck completely twisted. I grabbed him and removed some pine shavings from his mouth and he looked almost dead. I placed him in the nest box cause I did not have the heart to watch him die nor the heart to cull him. I came here and dug deep into the searches looking for what I could do but found nothing on this topic. I went to feed the birds and was thinking I had to remove the body of my roo. Well he was still alive and lying there in the nestbox. I went and checked today and he is still in the nest box but is holding his head up and when I lifted him out he can stand straight but then sits down. I do not know what damage she did when landing on him but he seems to be slowly getting better. He has yet to walk but he is making the normal chicken noises and Laverne seems to be at his side like she knows she did the damage to him. Will he get better and is there anything I can do to help him. He was the ugliest chick growing up but now he is starting to get the topnot and beard in full ands looks really nice to me. He was my little crower, he would crow everytime I went in and now it is to quiet. I miss the crows

What can I do to help him cause he has not had anything to eat or drink since this happened?

Maybe he pulled a muscle. Crowing would be especially painful if he did. I can't imagine a silkie would be heavy enough to do any serious damage. He might just need rest. You could try giving him a pain reliever. I know there are dosages on here (for aspirin I think but don't quote me on that). Hope he feels better soon.

If he has a vaulted skull she may have injured his brain,it does not take much when they have that vaulted skull from what I understand. Most times they will get better but it takes awhile.Put his food and water where he can reach it or hand feed him.

I woke up and checked on him today and he is eating so that is a good sign. She landed on his back where the neck and shoulders meet. Laverne is a little fatty, she is much bigger then the roo. She spends her time eating and eating and eating then rest a bit then eating again LMAO

She might be a bit stunned or achy. If she's eating and sitting, I would give it time if she seems to improve, and it would not look good for her if she deteriorated. Try a cage and some heat. Poor baby!

I mean he.

I had placed him in a box ontop of the dryer. He is now standing and eating and drinking.

Seems whatever happened is slowly going away.

I thought he was doing better but he went downhill. Here are younger pictures of him he was getting white feathers on his neck and a few on his wings. I will miss him and his "Peter Brady" crow

I'm very sorry! So sad when you lose a beloved pet... It's always tough when they look like they're getting better!

We've fostered tons of sick stray and feral kittens and cats for local rescues and humane societies while they were waiting to get better and get fixed and into new homes... I think we've personally kept the kitty litter companies going through this recession. When we'd get in a super sick one I'd almost be afraid if they started looking better... sometimes their last day is their best - it's like God just wants to give them one more good day with us before he takes him home... I'm not sure what the evolutionary impact of that is, but I know for me it's so sad because here you think "yay!" and then the next day they're gone :<.

Well, I'm glad all your hens are okay - maybe that can comfort you now? I don't know what else to say, just sorry!
