Will it be ok to block the rafters off in my coop with chicken wire?

mine roost in the rafters, just add a couple of staggered intermediate height 2x4s so they can jump up easier, a ladder would work but itl get caked with poop ... and yes, my nest boxes are under the rafter at one end, i had to wire that off so they didnt poop in the nests ..

I wouldn't let mine roost in the rafters because I like to have easy access to them at night. When they are roosting is the best time to catch them for examination, medicating, etc.
