I need help with questions my rooster beak fell off on the process of defending his flock by a hawk.

I think it may grow back. It is somewhat like a nail. Grows, and is worn away by use. The good news, about that beak, is,,,,, Even if it did not grow, rooster is still able to drink water since bottom portion is intact. May have some difficulty cracking grains with a softer upper portion. You may have to give him softened, (wet) feed.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome

Get a deep bowl and put feed in it and add alot of lukewarm water to make watery gruel for him to eat. He wont be able to peck at feed on a hard surface which will cause pain. Using a deep bowl, he wont be able to peck deep at all, just enough to get a mouthful of feed. A new beak will eventually regrow under the old beak, but it's going to take time.
Make sure you keep the feed watery at all times and dont let it dry out. Replace the feed as necessary, you dont want mold growing in it. Only use lukewarm water, not cold water. Nerve endings are exposed and you dont want him having pain.
