Will little "patch" survive...

I have an egg that I decided to glue and patch...just for kicks to see if it works.. i got a shipment of 6 eggs all were great except little "patch" lol, little patch when I candeled before they went in I would see a crack not visiable to the eye, i decide to break out the clear nail polish and lightly mend the crack and jsut go for it, no major damage right? next day I inspect everyone and candle "patch" and darn it another crack I didnt see at the bottom, break out the nail polish again, cover the cracks, welll dummy me didnt let the nail polish dry enough and patch stuck to the egg turner, POOP! , so I wiggle and wigle gently and unfortunately a piece of shell came off!!!! DARN IT but the membrane is in tact, shoot, lets get creative, i made a paper patch to go over the hole and used the nail polish again, fast forward 2 days , LOL patch is the first of all the 6 eggs show show visiable veins today LOL... im not holding my breath, but I jsut found it amuzing... had to share ...lets hope the best for patch!

Time will tell, what color was the polish ? Non scented wax works really well and is not very toxic to the chick. hope all goes well.

its clear, its all I had at the moment that I coudl think of to mend quickly, I know its not very breathable, but I figured a realy thin line might be ok and the patch well its at the bottom so hopfully it wont be an issue, surgery on an egg LOL hub is sure ive lost it.

I have a similar story with a duck egg, but I don't have nail polish or wax, so I stuck some scotch tape on there

Today my Patch has a visible eye spot...

Patch is still alive, day eight, missing piece of shelll, cracks at top and bottom and broken air cell LOL I dont know how, but its still alive ...doing back flips still in there. amazing, wonder if it will make it the full distance.

I've been reading a few old posts on air cells, and a few people saying the wonky ones hatch first and are fine...so!
