never brought mine in for fear of cold...did have my breeders in a coop area (no exrta heat) just wanted to control light better so I would keep getting eggs...many still froze though...you almost have to get them before they hit the ground to stop them from freezing.
in fact we had a blizzard in march one year i watched as my grow outpens were being covered by a snow drift...figured that was the end of that...went out in the moring expecting to find frozen bodies...nope...just got met with loud chirping and such because Ilet the cold wind into their snug little igloo...yeah i got lucky...I didn't think it was gonna drift there...funny the way drifts work...
