It snowed last night and I wanna know if it’ll be safe for my duckies to walk around and play in the snow. This is their first snow ever. Will their feet and legs be safe in the snow?

I let my ducks play in the snow all the time and they’re fine as long as it’s not too cold. If they start sitting down and shivering you might put them back in the duck house for a while. what is the temperature where you are?

My ducks are fine in the snow. If it is really deep I will stomp out a path for them. Ducks have a special circulation system that helps protect their feet and legs. That's how they swim in freezing cold bodies of water.
Important that they have shelter where they can be out of the wind.

Your ducks will let you know if they're too cold. Mine didn't mind walking around in the snow last year, but if it got too cold, they would lay on the ground and tuck their feet against their bodies to warm them up. As long as they have access to a windbreak or their coop, they will be fine.

They will be fine, biggest thing is giving them somewhere dry to hang out, i make a straw/hay nest for them and refresh it routinely if it snows or just looks too poopy or wet. They also have access to their duck house if they want. I prefer them outside so they poop inside less, keep their bedding dry by applying more as often as needed.

I didn’t bother fluffing this up with the dusting of snow that day, but i did today, no pics though..

Is that a jumbo Pekin or a goose? He’s big

I'm very overprotective of my ducks. And I allow them to play in the snow. They have been doing it for 7 winters and have been just fine. Like others have said, I give them a dry place to go with. My ducks always have access to their barn with thick clean bedding.

Sir Winston? He's a beast, but he never fails to give me a bow, so i keep him around. The other 2 female Pekins are standard breed, he’s about 12 lbs and he is from the same batch. Maybe a goose jumped the fence?
