Will my ducks run away?

In spring of 2020 were getting ducklings and raising them. When old enough they’ll have the proper pond, run and coup, so they’re covered, but I was wondering if I could take them to say a park beside a lake for them to freely play in true nature for a bit. I’ve seen people do this but when doing research I haven’t found an answer on whether they would fly/swim/run away. I don’t want to risk anything.
(Also I’m creating a thread by asking this when don’t exactly know what that is, but for future where can I just ask questions? Thanks)

Edit: Thanks, I don’t think I’ll risk it. I am gonna keep this up though for anyone in the future :)

I think they would be hard to retrieve from a lake mine stay out in the middle of a pond all night so I stopped bring them to the pond
I have a lot of ducks...43...I know people do that..and the imprinting should have them come back..but personally.. I wouldn’t risk it..you say when they are old enough they will have a pond ...does that mean you are building one? I mean..that’s an awesome idea..and trust me.... I want ducks in ponds..that’s my thing...but...you CAN have then in a nice set up that will make them happy...at first we built a floating duck house so nothing could get them at night..but I waited too long to introduce them to our pond because I read they had to be 11 weeks before being in a pond..Chris thought I was nuts..anyways... I would take it day by day..we added on and on and on to our duck pen adjusting to their needs..so, same goes with the water..you just can’t plan it..it’s like planning around a child..they always get sick or throw a tantrum...lol..it’ll be great..ducks are the best

I wouldn't dare to bring my ducks to one of the public ponds here!
First there are too many uneducated people at those ponds that do feed all kind of cr*p to the waterfowl, second you don't want your ducks interact with the (wild?) inhabitants of a public pond and catch all kinds of diseases and parasites from them.
Plus you may be in trouble with those WannaBeSecurities thinking you are stealing the public ducks when you decide to go home.

So if they imprint on you they will come back to house. My jumbo pekin drake totally imprinted on me, so when I take him to the pond he swims around and when he is done he will get out. All I have to do is call him and he will follow me back to the house. But I also don't take him to a public area. I have my own pond on my property so idk how I would feel about the public pond.
