My peahens had chicks this spring and I have only been able to sell 1 male and 1 female. So that leaves me with 4 male chicks left. Will the adult male be OK with them if I keep them over winter? They are all free range and hang around the barn area together.
Also is there a easier way to sell them with out shipping them, I live in SE MN?
Thanks!!

In our freeranging gang, the mature males pretty much ignore the young guys. I don't think you will have any problem.
Even in breeding season, everyone seems to know the pecking order and aside from a little chasing there's not much trouble.
I imagine you have already tried to sell locally so they can be picked up? Peas are often listed on Craigslist.

My males spend all but the breeding season together and it is common for me to have babies/yearlings with adults no problem. I only have problems right at the start of breeding season. I have, in the past, had to separate mature males. In a free ranging situation you should have no problems.

Thanks!!! You guys rock! I have been a nervous wreck, I didn't want them to hurt each other.
I'll try craigslist again, maybe I had them listed to high. What does a young peacock go for??

Imine have always gotten along, sometimes they stalked each other during breeding season but it never last long and the recever was always able to get away because i also feer range.
What i have found is that the 3 brothers that were hatched together will get together and chase one of the other males as a group"little thugs"
