will my turkeys breed??

Hi everyone,

This is my first post in the Turkey forum, i am better known in the duck and chicken section.
Last spring i bought two turkeys knowing nothing about them thinking we could have them for Christmas dinner. ......
well to cut a long story short we didn´t.
I have one male who is very large and white, and one female who is black.
My main questions are ::
are these two different types ?
Will they mate?
I know the male is very keen, i have only seen him trying to mate her once but i also caught him trying to mate a goose.

The female is now laying under a tree and hasn't moved all day, so far i have had no eggs but could she be about to lay or even be broody??

I would say that they are 2 different types. The tom could be a bronze or spanish. The female could be beltsville white or midget. There are so many breeds out there. They will mate if they are not a broad breasted bronze. These birds do not reproduce naturally. She will lay eggs as far as broody I don't know. Hope this helps.

I wanted to send you a photo of them both but am unable to upload for some reason. I have just posted some on the duck site without any problems. I will try again tomorrow.
