Will NOT be buying TSC feeds again

Hey all here is a feed saver idea. For all those that dump the dust out of feeders or bag save it and turn it into mash. After all it is just pellets turned to powder. I have been feeding my chicks mash from day one. All day long but I am home and only give enough to feed them in one hour. It save me tons in feed from what I have been reading. They do have dry also but all they do is scratch most of that onto the floor of the brooder. What a waste. I might just clear an area of the brooder to dump dry onto so they can do it to there hearts content.

I am using wood pellets so that turns to sawdust when wet. My chicks do alot of scratching and dust bathing in it. I can not tell food from sawdust though and I am sure they cant either.
 
I do not like TSC feeds or Purina feeds, I feed mine an Ohio milled brand called performance feed. I pay $9.75 a bag. Our feed mill makes a layer feed for 8.75 a bag but, its corn with some soybean meal and they do not lay as well on it.

I love Kent feed but, it’s over $12 a bag and I feed a little over a bag a week and am on a tight budget.

I think Purina feeds are very cheap made feeds, I feed my show goats Kent feeds, when our Purina dealer ran a sale on Honor(Purina’s show animal feed) it was cheaper then Kent, after two weeks they lost muscle tone and when put back on Kent looked much better after around ten days.

Kent and blue seal are the same feed.

I feed TSC feed and have noticed this year that my neighbor feeds co-op feeds and his birds got bigger faster than mine. They came from the same hatchery at the same time. The only difference is I free range mine a few hours a day and he does not. The only reason I use TSC feed is because I don't want to feed medicated feed. The only unmediated feed co-op has is layer.

We get a discount if we order by the ton also. They have slowly reduced the amount of molasses they add and the goats don't seem to have noticed

I was also told you can get powdered molasses and mix in yourself but I've never bought it. Hope this helps. Kim
