Will Our Dog Get Used to the Chicks?

it took a couple weeks but my chegeal Lo Lo is fine with the chicks she even watches over them nudging them with her nose to keep them together on there walks through the yard . one of my big chickens took a peck at one of lo lo's chick friends she chased the big bird off . you have to be careful i might just be lucky

Where did his parent come from? Did they hunt? If the dog has a strong prey drive I wouldnt ever trust him around the chicks.

My GSP hunts birds so its tough on him. After a week he hasnt let up a bit...still hovers over the brooder whining and looking back to me (probably waiting for me to flush and shoot them). Its not hard to trash break a dog, but if you hunt with the Plott be careful how you do it.
