I had six baby chicks born a few days ago. I noticed the Peafowl getting way too close to these little babies. I had four baby turkeys show up with their mama in the backyard yesterday. When I looked out this morning, two were lying close to each other dead.

I have never had my peas go after chicks and i have them year round.
What does happen though is when the peas go to check out the new members of the flock the momma hen would jump at the peas and then the peas would pursue her and in the process she or the peas would step on the babies causing them injury.
One thing i have learned is peas can hold a grudge for a long time and when one is mad at a hen the entire flock will try to get her seperating her from her chicks or even ducks if they bowed up to the peas.

So i build brush cover for the hens to hide in that the peas can not get to them.

Yes they can. Mine have never, but a friend of mines peafowl started stalking chicks and killing them. Soon the others joined in and she had to rehome them as they would not stop once they started.
