We got our first egg today YAY February 10, 2010
It’s a bit cracked, and has evidence that it fell from the perch
(I’m guessing she was sleeping, the egg had purple paint on it from the next box cover that the perch is above, although I could screw a board to spot the eggs from then falling to the floor, might need to do that ASAP)
Well here’s the picture
(the left egg is a store bought egg for sizing LOL, it on the small small side but so cool)

And I’m pretty sure it was Cookie

If it wasn’t her it was Vanilla, no one else seems ready enough

SO exciting so proud of my ladies today, beaming from ear to ear with tears in my eyes

Yipppeee! I remember our first egg... it was just a few weeks ago. I found a few eggs on the coop floor that first week but since then more of the "girls" are laying and they seem to have figured it out! My money's on Cookie as your egg layer...look at her beautiful bright red comb and waddles! Congrats Chicken Mom!

Thank you about the roosts I have been working on finishing my coop, although still not finish I am liking the way it's turned out : )

OMG OMG
I heard funny sounds from my chicken so i went out and i looked and cookie and vanilla were in nesting boxes, waited a few
went and looked and vanilla was out and no egg
but cookie is still in then throwing bedding around
could she lay again so soon?

She still out there and I've heard some other loud sound I checked inn through the window and she seems ok

Can she really be laying when she laid her first just yesterday?
