I use heated bases for my waterers in winter, rather than the black rubber dishes, because there's no way we can replace frozen water three times daily. If you are home all the time and will do that, it's an option.
My roosters are all of breeds with smaller combs and wattles (see Solo, my avatar), so it's much less of a problem. I hated to see those big combs and wattles get frostbitten!

I don't really believe in that,but it will be interesting to see how late it will get in winter without my water freezing.

Uhm, its not a belief its science. There is no credible scientist on this earth who thinks that global warming is not happening.
