Will this coop be okay, too small?

I think Jacob in your case the two Gold Stars and telling the Americauna it's too small. If they were all three raised together I can't think of any other reason other than they feel too cramped. The fact that the two have started laying shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Keep in mind there is some wasted space, the ramp uses up some space adult chickens can't use.

It looks small to me so if you go with this set up a think an hour outside for a little leg stretching, wing flapping, grass eating and bug chasing is in order.

Thanks Scooter147. I was thinking of rising the coop and run up about 3 feet allowing more room below and ability to add another perch.

I got the flat-top version of this. I also got the add-on run and reinforced the bottom of the coop with hardware cloth and am adding extra latches...chickens are coming next week, so don't know much more than that! It is flimsy, but as a starter coop, I am going to hang with it for a year or so and if all goes well, will think about building my own...which will be a task since I have no skills as a handyman.

I bought a similar coop for my four girls and found it much too small. I wound up adding an addition to the henhouse to double the space and an addition to the run to add another 25 sq ft. My girls free range much of the day but I wanted them to have more room when penned up

I have a similar cheapy coop but i only use it for two bantam silkie roosters. It's way to small for much else frankly, and the long term durability? let's say it is not fond of wet, snow etc..

I have mine where it's only for night and then they have this large fenced area to come out throughout the day. Personally i have found building your own better, i am quite fond of the minimalist coop from chicken coops for dummies.. it costs about the same as these premade and is way more durable and safe than the premades.

I do have one so i am speaking based upon experience lol

If my chicks turn out to be hens I will have three of them. I need a coop that's on the smaller side, cute and the cheaper the better. I found this one and at $275 I think it fits the bill, unless it will be too small.

I'm not sure how much I will let the chickens free range in my small backyard. I have concerns about them pooping all over our patio and destroying our tiny lawn. I think I will be able to let them out for an hour or two a day minimum. I also live near Seattle and I'm not sure how chickens react to rain. Will they want to go out in it?

If the chickens are mostly kept in the coop, is it too small for three of them? The dimensions are 42"h x 68"w x 31"d.

It would be fine for them but them things are very light and some times unshure it would not with stand a petortor attack.
