Where it snows.
I have some chickens. Obviously if I’m here, posting about my chickens naughtiness. But anyway, I was wondering if I clip my chickens wings, when the next molt and grow them back, will they still leap over the fence?

Even with clipped wings, it will be a trial and error. It may or may not work. Depends on your group of hens and if one gets over, than the others will likely fallow.
If you clip them once and they stop trying to fly. When their feathers return, old habits may or may not kick in. It just really depends on your flock. Do you have a leader who tends to be the first one to fly over ?

Mine will try to get over a fence that they can see through, but not a solid one. We have a solid wooden fence on two sides of my yard that they never try to get past, but they will fly right out of their puppy playpen that we use for them sometimes when we want to keep them more confined.
