Will this work for niacin for ducklings?

Thank you all so much! Full disclosure I am a veterinary nurse, but we don’t receive any education on ducks, chickens, etc so I always turn here for advice. I picked up the TSC injectable and have been giving that orally on treats to the ducklings. They act like it tastes funny (probably the alcohol in it) but that doesn’t stop them from eating it anyways.

Have you smelled the complex? I think it gives the flintstone vitamins their twang too. I chewed those suckers up and swallowed them when I was pregnant. They weren’t the best tasting, so I bet they do taste weird.:drool

OMG! You’re totally right! That’s exactly what flintstone vitamins smell like. :lau Funny how when I was a kid I loved the taste of them. I would’ve eaten the entire bottle, now there’s no way I could choke down one of them.

Okay you spilled the beans on being a nurse hopefully you'll be able to help out on other things that come up here often.. We need good information from experienced members.

So glad that they are taking it so well even with the smell. I gave those vitamins to my kids they gobbled them down like candy too. I doubt they even noticed the smell lol

I don’t have much experience with ducks or chickens though. Although I currently have a hen living in my house the last 3 months dealing with heart failure and ascites as a result of it, but she’s still hanging in there with periodic abdominocentesis and antibiotics as needed. She’s a spoiled chicky, but always been my favorite, so I’ll do anything for her. Since I work in an ER, she’s had blood work, radiographs and an ultrasound as well as a brief echocardiogram.
Course we don’t see birds, so we don’t know exactly what we’re looking at.

Practice makes perfect. your getting some good practice with your lil hen. That's awesome your able to do so much for her. And we all learn on here what we can do that is best for out ducks and geese and other poultry. We have a good team of educators and others with experience too so we do the best we can to help each other and our birds.

Glad to have you on board!! It's such an awesome addition to our lives enjoying these little creatures that have been given into our care.

They are really awesome little animals with such big personalities. Can’t imagine not having them.

My 3 week olds have started having leg issues. They stand up and their legs start shaking, like just vibrating, then they quickly sit back down. I have been giving them brewers yeast from the start. It is the same product that I gave my duckling from last year and they were just fine. Not this year. Brewers yeast does not always work. I am using a different brand of chick starter so that might be it....? Everything else is the same, well I guess breeds and source of ducklings is also different. I have started adding supplements (pictured) to their drinking water as well. Hopefully this will work, I hate to see them having these issues.
