Do this........go to WalMart and buy at least 4 - preferably 5 of these.......(yeah, that's about $27 worth, but......) (Keep your receipt, because you will be taking 2 or 3 (maybe all but 1) back for credit. Take them home, open them up, put a AAA battery in all of them, and set them all in one place to monitor for several hours. See which 2 are consistant with each other's temp and humidity. . (I bought 6, and yep......only two were right on the money with each other's readings........the others were OFF "Bigtime".......one as much as 9 degrees). Now, is this temp and humidity correct on the ones I kept......and I mean correct with a calibrated instrument??? Mine stays off (cooler) 2 degrees from a very expensive instrument I was fortunate to get on ebay really cheap ....... one of these: http://www.foodservicedirect.com/pr...-Temperature-Humidity-Instrument-9.5-inch.htm
This thing is dead on (been calibrated with another very high-dollar instrument - not mine, by the way) and I have it integrated into my LG bator........and what's really amazing is, the temp and humidity changes are so responsive, I can pull one of the small plugs out of the top of the bator, and within 5 seconds I can see the temp drop "in tenths" of a degee.......I mean steadily keeping up with it. Same goes for the humidity. As for the Springfield $6 checkers, it takes forever for them to respond to such tiny changes in temp and humidty. So, no ........... I don't rely on those $6 gauges. I will try to post pics showing the difference of the Cooper, and the 2 Springfields later on tonight.......
