I just moved our 10 ducklings out onto the screened porch, totally shaded. It's 82° and breezy. Several are panting. How are they going to make it through the summer, when it's 100°?! Do I just have a wimpy batch, or is this typical?

Do they have a deep bowl with cool water? they do get hot but as long as they have a way to cool off they should make it just fine.

is it humid, it can be difficult for them if its humid as well as burnin outside

And how old are they? If they're young it might be more difficult for them to deal with extreme temperatures period.

They do have a deep bowl they can get their heads into, but they're young so don't have swimming water all the time yet. It's not humid, at least by NC standards. They are 3 and nearly 4 weeks. Still panting away. poor guys!
