I nominate nnbreeder. He is an extremely kind individual who freely shares his extensive knowledge of chickens with all, and he knows tons about a lot of other subjects - how to fix a car, handle horses and cattle and dogs, and lots of other things people have asked. When I had trouble with a predator and described what was happening, he was the one who told me it was probaby a raccoon - I thought it was a wild cat. He was right - after putting a trap out I caught 5 raccoons within a few feet of my chicken coop.
Nnbreeder also has taken the time to detail specific instructions for treating chickens for worms - including dosage amounts and egg withdrawal times as appropriate; he's talked to BYC'ers about Marek's, Pulloram, vitamin deficiency and botulism in chicken flocks. He can tell you how to dub a rooster and fix an incubator. He continues to try to acclimate BYC'ers to his favorite breed - Turkens.
In short, I have found nnbreeder's advice, comments and kindness refreshing as well as a paragon of what the BYC community should strive for - an open and friendly, non-judgmental exchange of knowledge and experiences. Thanks for considering nnbreeder for the GFM - and thanks for passing it forward!
