Windham, Maine Town Council considers allowing chickens in residentially zoned areas please come

If you live in Windham, Maine and you want to have chickens (legally) in areas zoned residential, please come to the Town Council meeting tonight at 7pm. The Land Use Ordinance Committee has recommended they NOT expand the areas allowing more than ONE chicken. But they have written very reasonable regulations to be adopted, if the Town Council decides to go ahead and expand the areas allowed to have chickens.

Good luck! I'm from Arlington VA, where our zoning ordinances prohibit almost everyone from owning chickens. We're working on it though...

The Town Council voted 5 to 1 to refer it to the Planning Board. I'll post as soon as I have more news...but this is good!
