This is what we did, all of it made from things we had lying around...

I like that I may put one on my coop. Already have the window, just have to unscrew it and fix a frame. Thankd for the idea!

Note: The plexiglass I used was thicker than my saw blade so I simply set my blade to cut a tiny bit off center and ran the boards once, flipped them and ran them again. Worked perfectly.

lynnep, that is just what i needed! (I'm a visual person) We are going to put the hinges on the top though.
