Here is a new one from CL this morning:

I have 2 Roosters n 5 Hens all Raised from Babys The Roosters are Brothers Will lay eggs this Spring The Hens are 1 Rhoad island Red 1 Blk Sexlink n 3 Winedots Must go to good home only for eggs n not to be eaten Very Tame Asking $45.00 will not sell seperate

Hmmmm ~ I'm not sure if it is the Roosters or the Hens that "Will lay eggs this Spring"

Well I went on CL this morning to get a good chuckle and it looks like the laugh is on me.......

"I have some real nice opingtons for sale, black and grey, I got them from a bad home and took alot of time and money to get them back to good health, now they are getting too big and too many for my coop,they are about 2 1/2 to 3 months old and will be laying soon, I also have a few turkins i would like to see go, I will sell a male and a hen for$20.00 they lay real good but I have too many. I am almost 100% positive I sold these chicks to this guy back in December. FYI, it's Orpingtons and they aren't "grey", they are Lavender. Oh, and it's Turken - with an "e". Not sure what he means by "good health" since they were perfectly healthy, active chicks when they left my "bad home" in mid-december..............

Yup. since he bought the lot of chicks for $100 and if he's selling the orps $8 a piece and the turkens for $20 a pair.......well, he'd make enough off the Turkens alone (5 hens and 5 roos) to cover what he paid me. I 'd have to check my records - yup, I'm such a "bad home" that I keep records of what I sell to whom and when - but there were 3 mottled, maybe 6 lavs and the rest were blacks (maybe 15). Oh and I think he got a couple EE's too.

Finally! A use for CL!!

Here is my contribution:

I am looking to buy a few chickens. I need hens and maybe a rooster. I really want Single Cone Rhodeisland Reds, however, I am opened to anything that is good layers. The pen is split into two parts, one part is inside my rabbit barn and one part is outside it, they will have the freedom to go in and ou in proper weather. People selling adults, pre-adults and chicks are all welcome to email me. I do have have used it last year and know how to raise them from a day old.

People selling adults and pre-adults? I have a teenager that I would like to list and maybe the DH too.....
