I'll try but I'm afraid that they'll get hit by a passing car or that the neighborhood cat will get a free meal!

ahhh. they can take down a cat. Ours actually get along with the cats. And the cats were wild when they first showed up. As for the cars, they stay away from streets, we live right on a highway.
The guineas stand at the side of the road, griping about the amount of cars keeping them from getting across.
