"That," he grinned. "Sounds more appealing than even the finest squirrel stash!" With his beak, Bloodwing rubbed under his bandages, relieving the itching sensation the skin growth was causing. It was only for a moment, for he couldn't help looking at Scartletnight again. "But I will help you find those berries," dramatically he rose to his feet, wobbling slightly but as his legs were unharmed, it was only the blood loss that hindered his movement. With a smile, he took a step towards Scarletnight, almost cracking his head against the lower part of the den ceiling. "Do you mind?" he leaned against her for support as he set his sights on the outdoors.
"no i dont" she smiles, and head to find some black berries with him
"Thanks, Scarlet," with short, stiff steps he was soon back out in the sunshine, the first time in many moonsets. For a moment he couldn't resist flapping his wings and giving a low crow of joy into the sky. "Sorry," he coughed and rejoined Scarletnight, though a grin couldn't help but escape him. "I just . . ." his face grew sober. "Didn't think I'd be alive today."
