"Then by the powers of StarClan I grant you your Apprentice name. You will be known as Stonepaw until the day comes that you become a warrior," he said, dipping his head as Stonepaw was dismissed.
"Duskchick," he called afterward, QuickClaw set his son down, who then scurried to the rock and looked up. "Do you, Duskchick, promise to follow after your mentor and diligently learn to become a warrior?" he asked the tall, silver-laced cockerel. "I do," the cockerel said, his voice deep for his age. "Then by the mighty power of StarClan, I grant you your apprentice name. You will be known as Duskpaw until the warrior ceremony, and you will be mentored by KernalCorn." Duskchick bowed his head and left from his place at the rock, settling beside his family.
"Dovechick," he called, expectantly gazing upon her with thoughtful eyes of flame-like color, "Do you, Dovechick, promise to learn how to be a warrior, to follow our code, and to learn from your mentor?"
(who is Stonepaw's mentor?)
Dovechick looked up at him, her eyes blazing with something unrecognisable "I do"
(Oh, whoops, I need to stop multitasking. Gettin' genders mixed up, now forgetting things...
His mentor will be Heronwing.)
He stared at her eyes for a moment, struggling to read what he vaguely detected. He saw that something was a little... off about this chick. And he didn't like it, either. He narrowed his eyes for a moment; nonetheless, he knew that the show must go on.
"Dovechick," he said almost flatly, struggling to hide his suspicions for the sake of Iceberry. "By the powers of StarClan I grant you your apprentice name; Dovepaw. You will be mentored by Inkblaze," he said, motioning a wing to the fluffy Showgirl hen in the crowd whose eyes somehow had a fierce glint to them, even under her ridiculously large crest. Clawstar made an inconspicuously quick motioning of his wings to his eyes and to Dovepaw, as though saying something to Inkblaze. She nodded stiffly.
"Hollychick," he called next, looking down at the chick, "Do you, Hollychick, promise to follow our code, as you learn to become a warrior and learn from your mentor?"
