Moon waved her wing out, "Well swan, I guess this is goodbye"
"I reckon so" He shook, a loose feather fallen sullenly to the ground.
"It has been good seeing you, I hope you find your home"
"I will, I know it, one way or another I will"
"I know you will too" she replied as she stepped into the chilly water, her reflection staring up at her. "ya know swan" she said as he waddled in beside her, "Nothing ever really stays the same, no one ever stays"
He looked at her and down to her reflection, "well, I will have to disagree with you on that"
He lifted his wing over Moon's head causing her reflection to fade, "And you will understand one day, I know you are smart enough, for a featherhead of course"
He removed his wing and her reflection return, smiling he whispered, "Well Moon, I leave you now, safe travels"
Moon smiled back, "you have gone water crazy goose" she looked up at his dark thoughtful eyes and wrapped her wings around him, or at least a quarter of him.
The swan opened his beak and started to reply but instead, he just stood there.
Moon opened her eyes and let go, "Thanks goose" she whispered as she walked back on to shore.
He lifted a wing and smiled, "Thank you, Moon. I will tell rose when I see her, there is still hope for kind"
Moon feigned a smile and walked up the pebbly shore, her wet legs chilling in the slight breeze. When she looked back, the white swan was gone.
